Access to education in rural communities in Colombia remains a significant challenge. The International Organization for Migration supports initiatives that encourage students to break the cycle and persevere. Teenagers are offered targeted training that helps them access higher education opportunities. This production, filmed across five regions of the country, aimed to offer a glimpse into Colombia's diverse cultures and traditions, sparking curiosity among the project's participants.

This is the story of thousands of young teenagers who work in the kitchens of New York City.

The first five years of a child’s life are critical for cognitive, emotional, and physical development. I collaborated with psychologists, educators, and experts to craft insightful scripts for a series on Early Childhood Development. Alongside a small team, I traveled to various regions of Colombia, capturing powerful, real-life stories that highlighted the importance of early childhood care and education.


School Dropout Prevention - Cinematographer I IAP Researcher | Editor
Access to education in rural communities in Colombia remains a challenge. In recent years, school dropout reached over 60% in these areas. Oswaldo is an Indigenous teenager who faces bareers daily. Living five hours away from his nearest school, he endures a long commute in a packed school truck trough unpaved roads just to attend classes. He hopes to become a doctor so his community doesn't have to wait weeks for medical services. The International Organization for Migration has supported initiatives like these, encouraging students to persevere in their studies and pursue their dreams.
